Before you start

The 32 MiB input limit is enforced before reading. 96 MiB plus browser overhead is recommended free memory, not a total memory guarantee. Cancel discards results without interrupting an active digest.

Does a matching checksum prove a file is safe?

No. A match only indicates the same checksum value; it does not certify the source, authenticity or malware safety. Obtain expected checksums through a trusted channel.
